Surgeon Experience using Real Time Nerve Monitoring during Robotic-assisted Radical Prostatectomy (RARP)
A survey was developed to investigate the impact to surgeons using the ProPep® Nerve Monitoring System. This survey explored twelve (12) different parameters, including:
- Surgeon volume experience
- Impact of the technology on tissue handling and surgical technique
- Efficiency of use
- Patient outcomes
- Overall value to the surgeon and patient
Surveys were provided to the surgeon, completed independently, and returned for evaluation.
Surgeons using the ProPep® Nerve Monitoring Technology range in practice from less than 500 robotic-assisted, radical prostatectomies (RARP) to over 5000. Out of those surveyed, 80% feel the ProPep® Nerve Monitoring Technology should be the standard of care for RARP, and all surgeons report that the device adds less than 10 minutes to surgery time. With an experience using the technology ranging from 12 months to over 5 years, 100% of surgeons choose to use it in the majority of their cases.
